Fluffy Thingss

Hello,

So there is this thing that livess outside of my tank. It likess to sit by my heat lamp but payss no attention to me when I'm out. Its black and fluffy and lookss kind of dumb. I think it may be a dog, actually worse than a dog... a puppy! It alwayss knockss over the stuff on my tank and scaress me sometimess when I'm out. It'ss not very big and doesn't seem to do anything useful. The boy and the girl call it 'Koda' and technically it's my neighbor. I sometimess wonder if it would taste good, but it is far to big for me to eat... right now any way. I think the girl would be really upset if I did that though. She seemss to be very fond of it. The boy iss like me and just thinkss it'ss unintelligent and annoying. Oh well, I guesss I will just have to get used to my neighbor.

Annoyed and Hungry,
Monty

Here is the picture of the fluffy thing that iss quite bothersome. It's even making a face at me in thiss picture.

I'm Shy

Hello,

A lot of people think snakess are fast and scary and will bite at anything that movess. Though that may be true of some snakesss, that is not true of my kind. Ball pythonss, including myself are quite shy. We are not very fast either. We like to just chill and hang out with you, not climb and crawl over the place to get away from you. One thing about me, and otherss of my kind, iss that unlike most snakess, we do not bite when we are scared. We simply curl up in a ball and just want to be left alone. Which is another great reason why we are the perfect pet. I've never even once attempted to bite my boy and girl, and I really don't think that I ever will. It's just not how ball pythonss are. If we do happen to bite, we usually don't hold on like some snakess, and we might have just mistaken you for food. Oh, that'ss also a good reason to use feeding tongss to feed uss. Then we don't associate your handss with food.

Wanting to be left Alone,
Monty

A New Spot

Hello,

Today wass a typical day. My people got me out to play with me a little then put me back up. Later though the girl decided she wanted to let me out while she was working on homework. Apparently she didn't want me crawling all over her computer like I did last time so she found me a new spot. She has the lightss hanging over her bed and decided to put me there. I wass a little skeptical at first but then I realized it was like a vine that I could hang out on! I wass so excited and stayed on it for quite a while. I could see her whole room and sit there and watch her as well, since I was over her head. I did notice that she didn't seem to like it when I would stretch out and try to kisss her face. She let me stay up there a little longer and then tried to take me down. I really didn't want to get down though. I was having so much fun! I twisted myself tight around the wiress, but she tempted me with her watch. I love wraping up around that thing. Anyway, I hope she will let me up there again...

Feeling like a King,
Monty

Time to Eat

Hello,

I got to eat today and it wass so deliciouss. My people feed me once a week on Thursday, but as I get bigger they will have to feed me lesss than that. My diet right now is what they call 'Fuzziess' or little tiny mice that have been frozen. The boy so kindly warms them up for me which makess them even tastier. Here, the girl hass made a video of me eating, well really just biting and swallowing because it takess me a long time inbetween. Enjoy!

Fat and Happy,
Monty

I'm Pretty

Hello,

My people keep telling my that I am pretty... I'm not quite sure how to take it, but I suppose I will take it as a compliment. I am a regular Ball Python, but there are many of us that all look completely different. Same shape yess, colorss no. There are some of uss that are solid white and they are called Leucistic, those are one of the girls favorites. Her other favorite, which I've heard her say that she iss dying to get is a Queen Bee Ball Python. I have seen the pictures and they are very pretty. If you want to see all of the Ball Python morphs, thatss what it'ss called when you cross breed and get different colored and patterned pythons, you can go here. Snakes & More Snakes. There are also different kindss of pythons. There is the Green Tree Python, but they don't make the best of petss like myself. There is also the Burmese Python that gets extremely large and can be aggressive at timess. Truthfully if your looking into getting a python, not meaning to brag or anything, but Ball Pythons are the best.

One of those Days

Hello,

Do you ever have one of those dayss where you are just tired and want to crawl under a rock? Well I'm having one of those daysss. I really just want to sleep and stetch out but the people keep wanting to hold me and show me off to their friendss... Don't get me wrong, I love being shown off especially since every lovess me, but today I am tired. My habitat got extremely hot so I tried to hide in the cool side, and I guess I was there to long. I attempted to move to the warm side but found this comfy spot right in the middle. It'ss perfect because I can still hide, be on the warm side, and be on the cool side all at the same time. I think thiss will be my new favorite spot.

Ready for a Nap,
Monty

The Habitat

Hello,

Ball pythons are pretty easy to take care of, I promise. Me and my fellow brothers just need a few thingss to make us feel comfortable. The most important thing we need is a good temperature change. We have to have a warm side and a cool side. I prefer my habitatss warm side to be around 85 degrees and the cool side around 70-75 degrees most of the time. Humidity is also very important because we are from the forest in Africa. Keeping the humidity at 50 percent minimum is good enough to keep most of uss happy. I personally, along with most of my other relatives love hiding placess. The people who adopted me originally had one, but decided to get me one for the cool side and the warm side. I am really glad they did that. Something to climb on like a branch is preferred too. I don't climb as much as my cousin, the Green Tree Python, but its nice to have. Good ground floor is important as well, though I'm not to picky. I currently have a mix of aspen and coconut shavingss, but newspaper works just as good. Oh I almost forgot that water iss important too. We really don't drink very much since we absorb most of our moisture from our food, but we get thirsty sometimess. I myself am not hard to take care of at all, and we, ball pythons, are what I believe to be be, the best pets ever.

Happy with New Home,
Monty
